Job Summary:

From $16.50 per hour + $75 Weekly Perfect Attendance Bonus | Up to $150 per Biweekly Paycheck |   First Shift | Monday–Friday | Full-Time

Giant Industries is hiring a full-time Assembly Technician for our Toledo manufacturing facility. This position offers steady first shift, Monday-Friday, 40-hour workweek with a starting wage of $16.50 per hour plus a $75 weekly perfect attendance bonus, paid with biweekly payroll. Employees with perfect attendance can earn up to $150 in attendance bonuses per paycheck – equivalent to approximately $18.38 per hour during qualifying weeks. As an Assembly Technician, you will work as a part of our production team assembling components and products at various assembly stations. We’re looking for dependable employees who take pride in quality work, maintain good attendance, and are comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires flexibility, adaptability, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to learn multiple assembly processes. Based upon production needs, you may be assigned to different workstations and will need to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on assembly tasks in multiple production areas based on daily production needs
  • Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines at all assigned stations
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic assembly issues and report complex problems to team leads or supervisors.
  • Maintain quality standards across all assigned work areas.
  • Perform quality checks of the production parts using gages, calibrated tools, and test stands as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to understand production goals and shift changes.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized, regardless of assignment location.
  • Perform basic material handling duties such as moving parts between stations.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to improve skill versatility and support team flexibility.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  •  High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly environment is a plus, but not required. Paid on-the-job training is provided.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Read and understand complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write correspondence in detail. Verbally present information in one-on-one or group situations (to management and/or other employees).

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals). Ability to use basic measuring tools such as calculator, ruler, calipers, micrometers, or simple math as required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and/or uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Study a problem and acquire a solution.

 

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS

  • Lift up to 25 lbs. on selected jobs
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands and arms lifting and /or placing parts in fixtures or machines using required tooling to tighten parts in fixtures for required production. Must have hand dexterity to perform assembly tasks.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and letters
  • Ability for acute visual capabilities (as per part correctness) during production runs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Monitor and clean work areas to ensure a clean and safe workplace. If the area cannot be kept clean report this to a supervisor and/or management. Dispose of all cardboard and paper in proper containers. Report any potential safety hazards to your supervisor, management, or safety committee.
